Football Recap: Jefferson Comes Up Short

Jefferson and Robinson squared off in some playoff action on Tuesday, but Jefferson had to settle for second. They had to suffer through a 61-0 loss at the hands of the Knights. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Florida football rankings (they are ranked 349th, while the Knights are ranked third).

Haidyn Spano had another great game (as she tends to do), throwing for 217 yards and six TDs while completing 80% of her passes for Robinson. Spano is becoming a predictor of the Knights' success: when she posts at least three passing touchdowns the team is undefeated (and 2-3 when she doesn't). Izzy Harris also helped out with an impressive 103 receiving yards.

Jefferson has traveled a rocky road recently, having lost five of their last six matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 3-7 record this season. As for Robinson, their victory bumped their record up to 13-3.

Jefferson does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Robinson, they will take on Hillsborough at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (the Knights 7.7, the Terriers 12.2) so any points scored will be well earned.
