Baseball Recap: Animo Leadership Comes Up Short

If Animo Leadership was riding high fresh off their 18-4 takedown of Animo Venice on Thursday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Aztec Eagles came up short against the University Wildcats on Saturday, falling 15-2. The Aztec Eagles haven't had much luck with the Wildcats recently, as the team has come up short the last three times they've met.

Animo Leadership saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Mario Mendoza, who went 1-for-2 with one stolen base. Mendoza has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Animo Leadership's defeat dropped their record down to 2-6. As for University, they have started the season off flawlessly and has a 2-0 record to show for it.

Coming up, Animo Leadership will be playing in front of their home fans against Shalhevet at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for University, they will challenge Environmental Charter at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.
