The Berkeley Yellowjackets will face off against the Bishop O'Dowd Dragons at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Berkeley is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
Berkeley barely beat Alameda the last time the pair played, but that sure wasn't the case this time around. The Yellowjackets were the clear victors by a 16-2 margin over the Hornets on Wednesday. The Yellowjackets might be getting used to big wins seeing as the team has won 11 contests by six runs or more this season.

Quinton Hill made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, striking out six batters over four innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. He has been nothing but reliable: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in three consecutive appearances. He was even better at the plate, going 2-for-3 with one home run, four RBI, and two runs. That's the most RBI he has posted since back in March of 2025.
In other batting news, Ethan Walker was a standout: he went 1-for-3 with one home run, three RBI, and two runs. Another player making a difference was Akanni Owodunni, who went 2-for-3 with three runs and two RBI.
Berkeley always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .636. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.
Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Bishop O'Dowd, who bounced back after a loss on the road last Thursday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against Encinal on Wednesday, sneaking past 8-7.
Like Berkeley, Bishop O'Dowd also got a great game from a two-way player: Oliver Makeig. He tossed 3.2 innings while giving up just two earned runs off three hits. Makeig was also solid in the batter's box, getting on base in three of his four plate appearances with one run, one double, and one RBI.
In other batting news, Dimitri Williams was excellent, getting on base in all four of his plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one run. Jack Mullen was another key player, going 2-for-4 with three RBI, one stolen base, and one run.
Berkeley's victory bumped their record up to 20-4-1. As for Bishop O'Dowd, their win bumped their record up to 16-9.
The pitchers for both teams better look sharp on Friday as neither team is afraid to steal. Berkeley has been swiping bases left and right this season, having averaged 3.5 stolen bases per game. However, it's not like Bishop O'Dowd struggles in that department as they've been averaging an even more impressive 3.8 stolen bases. The only question left is which team can snag more.
Berkeley beat Bishop O'Dowd 7-4 in their previous meeting last Thursday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Yellowjackets since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
