Basketball Recap: Derry's Loss Ends Three-Game Winning Streak at Home

If Derry was riding high fresh off their 68-38 takedown of Yough last Tuesday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Derry Trojans took a 67-49 bruising from the Deer Lakes Lancers on Friday. The Trojans have struggled against the Lancers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive lost matchup.

Derry's defeat ended a three-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4. As for Deer Lakes, the win (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 12-2.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Derry will venture away from home to square off against Elizabeth Forward at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Deer Lakes, they will challenge North Catholic at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. North Catholic has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 223 points over their last three contests.
