Volleyball Recap: Surry Central Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Presley Smith and Kenzie Hooker + How To Watch

Surry Central lost against East Surry on September 11th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Golden Eagles took a 3-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Cardinals. The Golden Eagles have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

Surry Central started the match hot and won the first set, but they struggled down the stretch and lost the last three. The final score came out to 21-25, 25-15, 25-16, 26-24.

Kenzie Hooker and Presley Smith certainly did their best on Tuesday to avoid the loss. Hooker had 20 digs, four aces, and one block, while Smith had 15 digs, 11 kills, two aces, and one block. Smith has been hot for a while, having posted five or more kills the last 37 times she's played.

Surry Central's loss dropped their record down to 11-6. As for East Surry, they are on a roll lately: they've won 11 of their last 12 matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-4 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming matches. Surry Central will head out to take on East Wilkes at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. As for East Surry, they will venture away from home to face off against North Surry at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
