Football Game Preview: Academy Park Knights vs. Chester Clippers

The Academy Park Knights will face off against the Chester Clippers at 1:00 p.m. on Saturday. The two teams have allowed few points on average (Academy Park 12.8, Chester 1.2) so any points scored will be well earned.

Academy Park is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Great Valley just ended the team's three-game winning streak on Friday. They were just a hair shy of victory and fell 7-6 to the Patriots. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Meanwhile, Chester put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They blew past Chichester 78-7. The game was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 46-7.

Chester didn't go easy on the quarterback and picked off two passes before the game was over. In fact, those interceptions all came courtesy of defensive juggernaut Shadrach George. Chester received some extra help from Demir Hatchett, whose fumble return for a touchdown made for one of the most unforgettable moments.

Academy Park's defeat dropped their record down to 3-3. As for Chester, their win bumped their record up to 6-0.

Academy Park was taken down by Chester 46-6 in their previous meeting back in October of 2024. That matchup was all but decided by halftime, at which point the Knights were down 26-0.
