Mendon Unity lost to Beardstown back in December of 2023, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Thursday. The Mendon Unity Mustangs came out on top against the Beardstown Tigers by a score of 69-57. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Mustangs.

Despite the loss, Beardstown saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Colby DeSollar posted ten points along with eight assists and five boards. DeSollar has been hot, having also posted two or more steals the last seven times he's played. Another player making a difference was Zach Meyer, who scored ten points and five rebounds.

Mendon Unity's victory bumped their record up to 18-12. As for Beardstown, they have been struggling recently as they've lost ten of their last 13 games. That's put a noticeable dent in their 8-21 record this season.

Mendon Unity does not have any more games scheduled as of now. As for Beardstown, they won't have much time to rest: their next matchup is against Routt Catholic at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Routt Catholic will roll in looking for their fourth straight win, something Beardstown surely won't give up without a fight.
