Soccer Game Preview: Rialto vs. Rubidoux

Rialto is 3-0 against Rubidoux since December of 2019 and they'll have a chance to extend that success on Monday. The Rialto Knights will take on the Rubidoux Falcons in a holiday battle at at 5:45 p.m. Rialto is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 3.7 goals per game this season.

Rialto is probably headed into the game with a chip on their shoulder considering Upland just ended the team's five-game winning streak on Friday. They and the Highlanders/Scots finished up their contest with a 2-2 draw. The result kept the Knights happy, as they haven't lost a game yet this season.

Meanwhile, it was a Battle of the Birds when Rubidoux challenged Arroyo Valley on Friday. Rubidoux came up short against Arroyo Valley, falling 3-0. While losing is never fun, the Falcons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' California soccer rankings (they are ranked 513th, while the Hawks are ranked 132nd).

With that draw, Rialto's record moves to 5-0-1. As for Rubidoux, they dropped their record down to 1-5-1 with the loss, which was their third straight on the road.

Rialto came out on top in a nail-biter against Rubidoux when the teams last played back in December of 2023, sneaking past 1-0. Does Rialto have another victory up their sleeve, or will Rubidoux turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
