Basketball Recap: Landon Shelvin Leads a Balanced Attack to Beat Lamar Consolidated

Randle's game last Friday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Lamar Consolidated Mustangs by a score of 54-47. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 56-50 on January 3rd.

Randle's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Landon Shelvin, who posted eight points and five assists. Jamarion Jones-Chambers was another key player, going 5 of 7 on his way to 14 points and five rebounds.

Randle smashed the offensive glass and finished the game with 13 offensive boards. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Lamar Consolidated only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.

Lamar Consolidated's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Renniek James, who earned 12 points and five boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Edgar Garcia, who went 5 for 12 en route to 14 points.

Randle is on a roll lately: they've won seven of their last eight matchups, which provided a massive bump to their 17-12 record this season. As for Lamar Consolidated, they dropped their record down to 7-16 with the loss, which was their fifth straight on the road.

A feisty cat fight is on tap when the Randle Lions face off against the Fort Bend Kempner Cougars at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Lamar Consolidated, they will take on Victoria East at 6:30 p.m. on Friday.
