Baseball Recap: Voyager Academy's Undefeated Season over After 14 Games

If Voyager Academy was riding high fresh off their 10-1 takedown of Durham Academy on Monday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Vikings fell just short of the Reidsville Rams by a score of 7-5 on Friday. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest defeat the Vikings have suffered since May 10, 2024.

Voyager Academy saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Bryce Smith, who went 2-for-3 with one home run and two RBI. Hayden Van Auken was another, going 2-for-3 with two runs.

Having lost for the first time this season, Voyager Academy fell to 13-1. As for Reidsville, the victory (which was their fourth in a row) raised their record to 8-9.

Voyager Academy wasted no time getting back out on the field and has already played their next matchup, a 7-3 loss against South Central on the 19th. As for Reidsville, they have also already played their next game, an 8-5 win against Farmville Central on the 19th.
