Jaynell Martin leads a balanced attack to beat River Valley

Recap: Kingman Bulldogs vs. River Valley Dust Devils

The Kingman Bulldogs had to endure a nine-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They enjoyed a cozy 50-34 victory over River Valley on Tuesday. The win was just what Kingman needed coming off of a 49-25 loss in their prior matchup.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Kingman to victory, but perhaps none more so than Jaynell Martin, who scored 20 points along with seven steals. Another player making a difference was Katie Shull, who scored 12 points along with four steals.

Despite the loss, River Valley still got an impressive performance from Kierra Clay, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 15 rebounds. Clay's trending in the right direction, as she's improved his point production for three games straight. The team also got some help courtesy of Avery Waldrip, who scored seven points along with three steals.

Kingman's win ended a six-game drought on the road and puts them at 4-12. As for River Valley, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 3-17.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Kingman won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Tonopah Valley at 4:00 p.m. on January 24th. Tonopah Valley comes in on a streak of failing to score more than 15 points in their last 13 games, a trend the team is of course eager to reverse. As for River Valley, they will be playing at home against Salome at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Salome is coming into the matchup hot, having won their last four games.
