Basketball Recap: Whitwell Tigers vs. South Pittsburg Pirates
Whitwell was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their eighth straight defeat. They fell 42-35 to the South Pittsburg Pirates. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Pirates this season, with their most recent loss being a 46-30 defeat back in January.

Whitwell's loss came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Stephanie Miller, who posted 15 points and three steals. The dominant performance gave Miller a new career-high in points. Whitwell's defeat dropped their record down to 8-14. As for South Pittsburg, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-8.
