Baseball Game Preview: Quanah Indians vs. Clarendon Broncos

Quanah is 0-4 against Clarendon since March of 2016 but things could change on Friday. The Indians will head out on the road to take on the Broncos at 4:30 p.m. Quanah has given up an average of 11.4 runs per game this season, but Friday's game will give them a chance to turn things around.

Quanah is headed into Friday's contest looking for a big change in momentum after dropping their sixth straight game on Tuesday. They lost 18-8 to Floydada. That's two games in a row now that the Indians have lost by exactly ten runs.

Meanwhile, Clarendon fought the good fight in their extra-innings matchup against Wellington on Tuesday but wound up with a less-than-desirable result. They fell just short of the Skyrockets by a score of 11-9. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest loss the Broncos have suffered against the Skyrockets since March 30, 2021.

Mason Allred was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring three runs and stealing a base while going 2-for-4. He also put up a home run, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Mason Sims, who scored a run while getting on base in three of his six plate appearances.

Clarendon now has a losing record of 7-8. As for Quanah, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-7.

Quanah suffered a grim 21-0 defeat to Clarendon in their previous meeting back in March of 2022. Can the Indians avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
