Baseball Recap: Make It Three in a Row for Linn County

It may have taken nine innings to finish the job, but Linn County ultimately got the result they hoped for on Tuesday. They narrowly escaped with a victory as the team sidled past the Trenton Bulldogs 3-1. Winning may never get old, but the Mustangs sure are getting used to it with their third in a row.

Linn County's win was truly a team effort as four different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Nathaniel Singleton, who went 1-for-4 with one stolen base and one RBI. Singleton is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season.

The victory got Linn County back to even at 4-4. As for Trenton, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-8.

Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Linn County will take on Grundy County at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Trenton, they will challenge Marceline at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
