Baseball Recap: Quincy Has No Trouble Against Quincy Notre Dame

Quincy never let their opponents score on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 10-0 margin over the Quincy Notre Dame Raiders. The Blue Devils not only won on Tuesday, but they posted their biggest win since April 1st (when they won 11-0).

James Day made a big impact no matter where he played. He didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over 6.2 innings pitched. He also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because Quincy is 4-2 when he allows at most one earned run, but 6-12 otherwise. Day was also big at the plate, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and one RBI. Those two doubles gave him a new career-high.

In other batting news, Quincy got a massive performance out of Nate Konrad, who went 3-for-4 with one home run, three runs, and two doubles. Konrad has become a key player for the Blue Devils: the team is undefeated when he posts at least two runs, but 7-14 otherwise. Mason Dent was another key player, going 2-for-4 with one home run, two runs, and two RBI.

Quincy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .543. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Quincy Notre Dame only posted an OBP of .130.

Quincy's record is now 10-14. As for Quincy Notre Dame, they moved to 16-7 with that defeat, which also ended their six-game winning streak.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Quincy will face off against Sterling at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Quincy Notre Dame, they will take on Augusta Southeastern at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday.
