Basketball Recap: P.K. Yonge Extends Home Winning Streak to Three

P.K. Yonge won the last time they faced Santa Fe, and Matilda Parrish did her part to make sure it happened again. The P.K. Yonge Blue Wave blew past the Santa Fe Raiders 56-30 on Tuesday thanks in part to Parrish, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 12 boards. Those 23 points gave her a new career-high.

The team also got some help courtesy of Nyah Smith, who posted five points in addition to nine rebounds and four steals. She is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed two or more in the last ten games she's played.

P.K. Yonge's victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 5-18. The wins came thanks to their defensive effort, having only surrendered 26.3 points per game. As for Santa Fe, they have been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 games, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. P.K. Yonge will take on Godby at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Santa Fe, they will face off against Branford at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
