Volleyball Recap: Wiregrass Takes a Loss

Wiregrass lost against Ballard Christian back in August and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The Kings came up short against the Eagle, falling 3-0. The Kings have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Wiregrass was kept off the board, it wasn't for a lack of trying: they cut into Ballard Christian's winning margin in every set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 25-13, 25-16.

Avery Wilson paced Wiregrass' offense, picking up five kills. Wilson got some help from Ellie Alford and her seven assists. Finally, Wilson was also a dominant defender, finishing with a team-high three blocks.

Wiregrass now has a losing record of 8-9. As for Ballard Christian, they pushed their record up to 10-1 with the win, which was their sixth straight at home.

Coming up, Wiregrass will venture away from home to challenge Southern Christian at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Ballard Christian, they will welcome Victory Christian Academy at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday.
