King's Academy suffered their closest loss since April 13, 2024 on Thursday. They fell just short of the Powell Panthers by a score of 5-3.

Chelton Jones made the most of his time at bat despite the final result and scored two runs while going 2-for-2. Those two runs gave him a new career-high.

King's Academy's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Powell, the win got them back to even at 5-5.

Looking ahead, King's Academy will challenge Union County at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday. As for Powell, they will take on Loudon at 5:00 p.m. on Friday.
