Volleyball Recap: Portsmouth Starts Season with Win at Home

Portsmouth gave their fans exactly what they wanted out of a home opener on Saturday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 win over the West Union Dragons. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Trojans have posted since August 26, 2024.

It was an exciting match in which no team won back-to-back sets, but at the end of the day Portsmouth got the one that really mattered. The final score came out to 25-14, 23-25, 25-17.

Coincidentally, Portsmouth and West Union will both be playing Clay the next time they take the court. The Dragons will head out to face the Panthers at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, while the Trojans will play them later in the day, at 2:00 p.m.
