Softball Recap: Houghton Lake Comes Up Short

Houghton Lake managed to slip by Lake City the last time these teams faced off, but didn't have those same answers this time around. The Bobcats lost 10-4 to the Trojans on Wednesday. The Bobcats were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Trojans earlier this season, when they won 11-9.

Savannah Luu spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered just two earned (and eight unearned) runs on ten hits.

On the hitting side, Megan Houserman was cooking despite her team's loss, going 1-for-3 with one triple, two RBI, and one run. Natalie Yost also deserves some recognition as she got her first hit of the season.

Houghton Lake's defeat dropped their record down to 2-5. As for Lake City, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-3.

Looking ahead, Houghton Lake will challenge McBain at 4:15 p.m. on the 25th. As for Lake City, they will take on Frankfort at 4:00 p.m. on Friday.
