Softball Recap: Brownsburg Gets the Win

While Brownsburg's victory against McCutcheon wasn't quite the blowout it was the last time the pair played, they still came out on top. The Bulldogs skirted past the Mavericks 6-4. The win continues a trend for the Bulldogs in their matchups with the Mavericks: they've now won six in a row.

Etta Schroering looked comfortable as she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in five consecutive appearances.

At the plate, Kenzly Larkin was excellent, going a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs and one stolen base. Another player making a difference was Jocelyn Hornett, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one RBI.

Brownsburg's record now sits at 12-5. As for McCutcheon, they have traveled a rocky road recently, having lost four of their last five contests. That's put a noticeable dent in their 6-5 record this season.

Brownsburg will face off against North Central at 5:30 p.m. on Monday. As for McCutcheon, they will head out on the road to square off against Franklin Central at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday. The Mavericks' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Flashes have averaged an impressive 7.8 runs per game this season.
