Baseball Recap: York Continues Home Dominance on Thursday

York pushed their score to 23 the last time they played Addison Trail, but on Thursday they couldn't quite do it again. York narrowly escaped with a victory as the squad sidled past Addison Trail 3-1. That result was just more of the same for these two, as the Dukes also won the last time the pair played back in March of 2024.

Matt Young and Andrew Papadopoulos dominated on the mound. Young pitched 3.1 innings while giving up no earned runs off two hits, while Papadopoulos pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit.

On the hitting side, York's win was truly a team effort as seven different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Ryan Lisowski, who scored two runs while going 2-for-3.

York pushed their record up to 2-0 with the victory, which was their fourth straight at home dating back to last season. They've had to fight for that success though, as they only beat their opponents by an average of 3.25 runs across that stretch. As for Addison Trail, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-5.

Coming up, York will welcome Waubonsie Valley at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. As for Addison Trail, they will head out on the road to take on Glenbard South at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday.
