In other batting news, Peyton Coakley and Caleb Hom did most of the damage at the plate: Coakley scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances, while Hom scored two runs and stole five bases while going 2-for-3. Those five stolen bases gave Hom a new career-high. Riley Brothers was another key player, scoring a run and stealing two bases while going 1-for-2.
Foundation Christian Academy always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .588. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their OBP total in three consecutive matchups.
Meanwhile, Victory Christian Academy had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 6 runs) and they went ahead and made it three on Thursday. Their pitchers stepped up to hand the Hornets a 15-0 shutout.
Kason Dansforth looked comfortable as he pitched two innings while giving up no earned runs off one hit. He has been consistent : he hasn't given up more than two walks in seven consecutive appearances.
On the hitting side, Victory Christian Academy let Landon Cuzzone and Nate Thomas run wild. Cuzzone scored two runs while going 3-for-4, while Thomas scored two runs and stole a base while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Cuzzone also put up a double, which was his first of the season. Another player making a difference was Collin Strickland, who scored two runs and stole a base while going 1-for-2.
Foundation Christian Academy pushed their record up to 9-1-1 with the win, which was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season. As for Victory Christian Academy, their victory bumped their record up to 12-4.
