Basketball Game Preview: Lewis Cass Kings vs. Oak Hill Golden Eagles

The Lewis Cass Kings will take on the Oak Hill Golden Eagles at 8:00 p.m. on Friday. Lewis Cass has been getting the ball to fall more lately as they've increased their point totals each of their last four games.

Lewis Cass is on a roll after a high-stakes playoff matchup on Tuesday. They walked away with a 50-42 win over Wabash. That's two games straight that the Kings have won by exactly eight points.

Meanwhile, Oak Hill had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 20 points) and they went ahead and made it three on Friday. They came out on top against the Eagles by a score of 58-50.

Oak Hill found their leader in sophomore Jace Tonagel, who went 6-for-13 to rack up 20 points in addition to seven assists and three steals. What's more, Tonagel posted two blocks, the most he's had since back in December of 2023. Landon Cruzan was another key player, shooting 63% from the field on his way to 12 points.

Oak Hill was working as a unit and finished the game with 11 assists. They are 14-2 when they've passed the ball that well.

Oak Hill pushed their record up to 16-6 with the victory, which was their seventh straight at home. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 62.1 points over those games. As for Lewis Cass, their win bumped their record up to 6-17.

Lewis Cass came up short against Oak Hill in their previous meeting back in February of 2020, falling 68-58. Thankfully for Lewis Cass, Tahj Johnson (who went 8-for-9 en route to 21 points and three steals) won't be suiting up this time. Will that be enough to change the final result?
