Basketball Recap: Clay County's Loss Ends 14-Game Winning Streak at Home

Clay County entered their matchup against Knox Central on Tuesday without any home losses, but there's a first time for everything. The Clay County Tigers fell to the Knox Central Panthers 76-70. The Tigers were given a dose of their own medicine in this game as the Panthers apparently hadn't forgotten their loss the last time these teams played back in February of 2024.

Clay County's defeat ended a 14-game streak of wins at home dating back to last season and dropped them to 16-5. As for Knox Central, they have been performing well recently as they've won four of their last five contests, which provided a nice bump to their 13-4 record this season.

Clay County is taking a road trip to challenge Barbourville at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday. One thing working in Clay County's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points in their last 17 games. As for Knox Central, a feisty cat fight is on tap when the Knox Central Panthers duke it out with the Bell County Bobcats at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Bell County will roll in looking for their tenth straight victory, something Knox Central surely won't give up without a fight.
