Softball Recap: Lourdes Academy Gets the Win

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Palmetto, Lourdes Academy was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top in a nail-biter against the Marathon Dolphins, sneaking past 7-5. This was payback for Lourdes Academy, who suffered an 8-2 defeat the last time these two teams met.

The team relied heavily on Sophia Pierro, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2. That hit was her first of the season. Jaqueline Perez-Abreu was another key player, going 1-for-3 with two RBI and one double.

Lourdes Academy's victory bumped their record up to 4-1. As for Marathon, their loss was their first of the season and makes their record 3-1.

Coming up, Lourdes Academy is taking a road trip to take on St. Brendan at 6:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Marathon, they will be playing at home against Mater Bay Academy at 4:00 p.m. on Friday. Mater Bay Academy is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 7.7 runs per game this season.
