It was a good run, but Metamora unfortunately witnessed the end of their three-game winning streak on Saturday. They took a 49-43 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Washington Panthers. While losing is never fun, the Redbirds can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Illinois basketball rankings (they are ranked 90th, while the Panthers are ranked fourth).

Metamora's defeat dropped their record down to 13-10. As for Washington, their win was their 11th straight on the road, which pushed their record up to 22-1.

Metamora will head out to square off against Rochester at 12:30 p.m. on Monday. As for Washington, they will challenge Bloomington at 3:30 p.m. on Monday. Bloomington will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Washington surely won't give up without a fight.
