Basketball Recap: Loveland Classical Makes It 18 in a Row at Home

Loveland Classical won the last time they faced Twin Peaks Classical Academy and things went their way on Wednesday too. The Loveland Classical Lions really took it to the Twin Peaks Classical Academy Timberwolves for the full four quarters, racking up a 67-39 victory. The Lions have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won 11 games by 27 points or more this season.

Loveland Classical's win was the result of several impressive offensive performances. One of the most notable came from Kole Doan, who almost dropped a double-double with 21 points and nine rebounds. Doan continues to improve, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Trevan Coberly, who posted 14 points along with eight boards and five assists.

Loveland Classical was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Twin Peaks Classical Academy only racked up six assists.

Twin Peaks Classical Academy's defeat came despite a true team effort with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jace Ross, who went 6-for-14 en route to 16 points. Angel Ortega was another key player, putting up 11 points.

Loveland Classical's win was their 18th straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 16-1. They've dominated over that stretch too, winning by an average of 34.2 points. As for Twin Peaks Classical Academy, their record is now 11-8.

Looking ahead, Loveland Classical will square off against Lotus School For Excellence at 6:30 p.m. on Monday. Lotus School For Excellence will roll in looking for their eighth straight victory, something Loveland Classical surely won't give up without a fight. As for Twin Peaks Classical Academy, they have already played their next contest, a 52-44 win against Weldon Valley on the 13th.
