Baseball Recap: Jackson-Olin Comes Up Short

Jackson-Olin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They came up short against the Fairfield Tigers, falling 17-1. Give some credit to the fans of both teams: the last four times they've met, the home team has come away the winner.

Jackson-Olin's loss dropped their record down to 1-9. As for Fairfield, their victory ended a four-game drought at home and bumped them up to 4-4.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Jackson-Olin will head out to take on Parker at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. Parker is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 8.4 runs per game this season. As for Fairfield, they will head out on the road to face off against Carver Birmingham at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Carver Birmingham knows how to get runs on the board -- the team has finished with ten runs or more in their past eight matchups -- so hopefully Fairfield likes a good challenge.
