Volleyball Recap: Prentice Takes Loss Despite Strong Performances from Luca Blomberg and Sophie Staroba

Prentice lost against Marathon back in October of 2024 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Buccaneers fell 2-0 to the Red Raiders. The Buccaneers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back matches.

While Prentice was not able to make it on the board, they still kept things close, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-21, 25-23.

Prentice's defeat shouldn't obscure the performances of Sophie Staroba, who had 17 assists and six digs, and Luca Blomberg, who had five digs.

Prentice's loss dropped their record down to 14-7. As for Marathon, the win snapped their losing streak at three matches and leaves them with a 9-11 record.

Prentice wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next contest, a 2-1 victory against Antigo on the 25th. As for Marathon, they will challenge Assumption at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
