Basketball Recap: Rockford East Comes Up Short

Rockford East was not able to break out of their rough patch on Monday as the team picked up their ninth straight defeat. They were outmatched by the McHenry Warriors and fell 49-18.

Azauria Brooks was Rockford East's leading scorer, having posted seven points.

Rockford East's loss dropped their record down to 2-20. As for McHenry, their victory ended an 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 3-19.

Rockford East didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next match, an 81-35 defeat against Belvidere on the 28th. As for McHenry, they will venture away from home to challenge Crystal Lake Central at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Crystal Lake Central will roll in looking for their ninth straight win, something McHenry surely won't give up without a fight.
