Basketball Recap: Centennial Skates Past Gadsden with Ease

Centennial was handed a heart-breaking two-point loss in their last contest, but they sure didn't let that happen against Gadsden on Monday. The Centennial Hawks really took it to the Gadsden Panthers for the full four quarters, racking up a 61-28 victory. The Hawks have made a habit of sweeping their opponents off the court, having now won nine games by 20 points or more this season.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Centennial to victory, but perhaps none more so than Rizaya Cash, who posted 11 points. The team also got some help courtesy of Kennedy Maestas, who earned ten points.

Centennial was working as a unit and finished the game with 19 assists. That's the most assists they've managed all season.

Centennial is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matchups. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-14 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 51.0 points over those games. Gadsden is on a six-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 9-17.

Coming up, Centennial will challenge Las Cruces at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Las Cruces will roll in looking for their fifth straight win, something Centennial surely won't give up without a fight. Gadsden does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
