Softball Recap: Post Falls Snags Sixth Victory in Last Seven Games

After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Coeur d'Alene, Post Falls was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They came out on top against the Bonners Ferry Badgers by a score of 10-0 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game). The high-scoring effort was just what the Trojans needed considering they were shut out in their previous matchup.

The team relied heavily on McKenna Zimmerman, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and two doubles. Those two doubles gave her a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Charlie Wasson, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases and two runs.

Post Falls hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. They are a perfect 3-0 when they post two or more strikeouts.

Post Falls has been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven contests. That's provided a nice bump to their 8-9 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 8.6 runs over those games. As for Bonners Ferry, they are on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 7-8.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Post Falls beat the Badgers by a score of 15-1 later that day.
