Baseball Preview: Buckingham Charter Knights vs. Esparto Spartans
The Buckingham Charter Knights will square off against the Esparto Spartans at 4:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Esparto took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Buckingham Charter, who comes in off a win.
Buckingham Charter took a six-run loss the last time they faced off against Elite, but this time they managed to keep it close and that made all the difference. Buckingham Charter won by a run and slipped past Elite 5-4. The victory was some much needed relief for the Knights as it spelled an end to their four-game losing streak dating back to last season.

Jake Loos was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over three innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off two hits. The dominant performance gave him a new career-high in strikeouts. He was also big at the plate, scoring a run and stealing two bases while getting on base in three of his four plate appearances.
In other batting news, Buckingham Charter got a big performance out of Gavin Brearley, who scored a run and stole a base while getting on base in all three of his plate appearances. Brearley also stole a stolen base, marking his first of the season. Gage Rodriegez was another key player, getting on base in all three of his plate appearances with one stolen base and one RBI.
Meanwhile, Esparto had to hit the road for their first game and it wasn't the result they were hoping for. They came up short against Los Molinos on Thursday, falling 26-0.
Buckingham Charter's first win this season bumped their record up to 1-3. As for Esparto, they dropped their record down to 0-1 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road dating back to last season.
