Baseball Game Preview: Jefferson Wildcats vs. Ada Bulldogs

Jefferson is on a seven-game streak of home losses, and Ada a five-game streak of away losses. However, someone's due for a change in luck on Tuesday. The Jefferson Wildcats will host the Ada Bulldogs at 5:00 p.m. Ada took a loss in their last contest and will be looking to turn the tables on Jefferson, who comes in off a win.

Jefferson is headed in fresh off scoring the most runs they have all season. Their pitcher stepped up to hand Waynesfield-Goshen a 17-0 shutout on Thursday. The high-flying hitting performance was a huge turnaround for the Wildcats considering their two-run performance the matchup before.

Dean Trentman was a standout: he got on base in three of his five plate appearances with four runs, one double, and one RBI. Those four runs gave him a new career-high. Karder Agner was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Jefferson hit smart and finished the game with only two strikeouts. The team has now struck out at least three batters in three consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Ada came up short against Riverdale on Monday and fell 9-5.

Andrew Allen was cooking despite his team's loss, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with two stolen bases and two runs.

Ada's loss dropped their record down to 3-11. As for Jefferson, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-13.

Jefferson beat Ada 4-0 when the teams last played back in April of 2024. Do the Wildcats have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Bulldogs turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
