Softball Recap: Central Lake Comes Up Short

Onaway hit Central Lake with a six-run second inning on Monday, which goes a long way in explaining the final result. The Trojans came up short against the Cardinals, falling 11-1. If the Trojans were looking for revenge after losing 26-0 to the Cardinals when the teams met back in April of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

Central Lake's loss dropped their record down to 1-6. As for Onaway, the win (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 5-6.

The future could be bright for both Central Lake and Onaway: their next opponents haven't had the best luck recently. The Trojans will look to extend Suttons Bay's nine-game losing streak when they meet at 4:15 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Onaway will try to hand Alcona their third-straight defeat when the two meet at 4:00 p.m. on Thursday.
