Baseball Game Preview: Lake Region Thunder vs. Community School of Naples Seahawks

The Lake Region Thunder will take on the Community School of Naples Seahawks at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. The two teams each escaped (but just barely!) with wins against their previous opponents.

On Thursday, Lake Region needed a bit of extra time to put away Lake Gibson. They had just enough and edged out the Braves 10-9. The victory was nothing new for the Thunder as they're now sitting on five straight.

Gage Calcutt was a standout: he scored two runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-4. He is becoming a predictor of Lake Region's success: when he posts at least two runs the team is 5-1 (and 5-8 when he doesn't). Jomar Caceres was another key player, getting on base in four of his five plate appearances with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double.

Meanwhile, Community School of Naples came out on top against Naples on Thursday by a score of 7-6 (the very same score they lost by in their prior game).

Community School of Naples' win bumped their record up to 13-8. As for Lake Region, they now have a winning record of 10-9.
