Basketball Game Preview: Archbishop Curley Friars vs. Our Lady of Mount Carmel Cougars

Archbishop Curley hasn't had much luck against Our Lady of Mount Carmel recently, but that could start to change on Wednesday. The Friars will head out on the road to face off against the Cougars at 6:00 p.m.

Archbishop Curley is leaving town to face Our Lady of Mount Carmel after disappointing their home crowd in their season opener. The Friars were beaten by St. Frances Academy 73-31 on Monday. For those keeping track at home, that's the biggest defeat the Friars have suffered since December 20, 2024.

Meanwhile, Our Lady of Mount Carmel came tearing into Monday's game with ten straight wins dating back to last season (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 10.2 points), and they left with even more momentum. They blew past the Admirals 74-40. The Cougars not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 13th (when they won 80-44).

Archbishop Curley took a serious blow against Our Lady of Mount Carmel when the teams last played back in December of 2024, falling 56-21. Can the Friars avenge their loss or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
