Baseball Recap: Cedar Creek Christian Snaps Seven-Game Streak of Losses on the Road

Cedar Creek Christian not only won on Monday, but they posted their biggest win since February 12th. Everything went their way against the Westside Wolverines as they made off with a 19-4 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 23-7 back in February.

Jordan Clements was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He struck out seven batters over five innings while giving up four earned runs off five hits. Those seven strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, Gabriel Hutton was a standout: he scored three runs and stole three bases while going 3-for-5. The dominant performance also gave him a new career-high in triples (two). Another player making a difference was Grayson Shelton, who scored a run and stole six bases while going 3-for-3.

Cedar Creek Christian's victory ended a seven-game drought on the road and puts them at 5-17. As for Westside, their loss was their 14th straight at home dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 0-17.

Coming up, Cedar Creek Christian will venture away from home to challenge Raines at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Westside, they will take on Ribault at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Wolverines' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Trojans have averaged an impressive 9.3 runs per game this season.
