Basketball Recap: Irving Takes a Loss

Irving was not able to break out of their rough patch on Friday as the team picked up their 23rd straight loss dating back to last season. They were dealt a 103-43 defeat at the hands of the Norman Thomas Tigers. Sadly, that's the second time they've come up short against Irving this season, as they also lost their prior matchup 106-19 back in December of 2024.

Norman Thomas' success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chris Taylor led the charge by shooting 4-for-7 from beyond the arc and dropping a double-double on 31 points and 11 boards. Taylor has been hot for a while, having posted nine or more rebounds the last nine times he's played. Jariel Rodriguez was another key player, almost dropping a double-double on 29 points and nine assists.

Irving's loss dropped their record down to 0-9. As for Norman Thomas, their victory ended a three-game drought on the road and puts them at 10-8.

Irving has already played their next matchup (against Graphics), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Norman Thomas has already played their next game, a 55-39 win against Barton on the 18th.
