Basketball Recap: Henry Rassmussen's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Shipley over Germantown Friends

Shipley was not able to break out of their rough patch on Wednesday as the team picked up their sixth straight defeat. They took a 71-59 hit to the loss column at the hands of Germantown Friends. Even though they lost, Shipley's still made a splash on offense and bumped their average scoring up to 50.2 points per game (they're now ranked -1th in scoring overall).

Shipley lost despite a true team effort on offense, the best among them being Henry Rassmussen, who dropped a double-double on 20 points and ten rebounds. That's the most points Rassmussen has posted since back in December of 2024. The team also got some help courtesy of Drew Naegle, who went 6 for 12 en route to 15 points.

Shipley's loss dropped their record down to 2-16. As for Germantown Friends, they moved to 7-12 with that victory, which also ended their six-game losing streak.

Shipley will look to defend their home court on Friday against Science Leadership Academy at Beeber at 8:00 p.m. Shipley is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 50.2 points per game this season. As for Germantown Friends, they will head out to square off against Friends' Central at 5:30 p.m. on Friday. Germantown Friends has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 210 points over their last three matches.
