Baseball Recap: Century Triumphs

Century lost to John Marshall back in April of 2024, but they didn't allow them the same satisfaction on Tuesday. The Panthers came out on top against the Rockets by a score of 4-1. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the Panthers.

Aiden Yochim made a splash while hitting and pitching. On the mound, he tossed one inning while giving up no earned runs or hits. Yochim was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double. That double marked the first that he has hit this season.

In other pitching news, Century got a great performance from Aiden Neshem as he struck out nine batters over five innings while giving up just one earned run off four hits (and only one walk). Neshem also tossed a walk, which is notable because the Panthers are undefeated when he allows at most two walks, but 3-5 otherwise.

Yochim wasn't the only one making solid contact as six players wound up with at least one hit. One of them was Owen Kelly, who went 2-for-4 with one run and one RBI.

Century now has a winning record of 6-5. As for John Marshall, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches. That's put a noticeable dent in their 4-6 record this season.

Century is taking a road trip to square off against Mankato West at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. The Scarlets will roll in looking for their seventh straight win, something the Panthers surely won't give up without a fight. As for John Marshall, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Mayo at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
