Baseball Recap: Washington Heights Expeditionary Extends Winning Streak to Four

Goddard Communications Arts & Tech typically has all the answers at home, but on Thursday Washington Heights Expeditionary proved too difficult a challenge. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Jaguars. Winning may never get old, but Washington Heights Expeditionary sure is getting used to it with their fourth in a row.

Emil Valenzuela and Sebastian Suarez made a splash no matter where they played. On the mound, Valenzuela tossed two innings while giving up no earned runs or hits. Meanwhile, Suarez struck out 11 batters over five innings while giving up just one earned (and two unearned) runs off one hit. What's more, Valenzuela posted three strikeouts, the most he's had since back in April of 2024. At bat, Valenzuela went 3-for-4 with one stolen base, two RBI, and one double, while Suarez got on base in three of his four plate appearances with two stolen bases and one run. Valenzuela has been hot, having posted at least one stolen base the last five times he's played.

Washington Heights Expeditionary's win bumped their record up to 6-1. As for Goddard Communications Arts & Tech, their defeat ended a six-game streak of wins at home and dropped them to 8-4.

As of now, neither Washington Heights Expeditionary nor Goddard Communications Arts & Tech have any future games scheduled.
