Valley and Johnston are an even 4-4 against one another since June of 2016, but likely not for long. The Tigers will welcome the Dragons at 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Valley's pitching crew has only allowed 3.8 runs per game this season, so Johnston's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Valley's hitters will try to repeat the strong performance they gave on Monday, when they got past Northwest's usually-dominant pitching crew. The Tigers blew past the Wolves 10-2. The result was nothing new for the Tigers, who have now won six matchups by eight runs or more so far this season.

Meanwhile, Johnston came up short against Waukee on Monday, falling 10-1. The Dragons have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Valley has been performing well recently as they've won five of their last six games. That's provided a nice bump to their 7-4 record this season. The wins came thanks in part to their pitching effort, having only surrendered 2.5 runs on average over those games. As for Johnston, their defeat dropped their record down to 2-5.

Valley came out on top in a nail-biter against Johnston when the teams last played back in July of 2025, sneaking past 3-1. Do the Tigers have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Dragons turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
