Basketball Recap: Page County Comes Up Short

Page County was the 73-71 winner over Clarke County when they last played one another back in February of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Page County Panthers had to suffer through a 83-23 loss at the hands of the Clarke County Eagles. While losing is never fun, the Panthers can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Virginia basketball rankings (they are ranked 301st, while the Eagles are ranked 69th).

Page County's defeat dropped their record down to 6-12. As for Clarke County, the victory (which was their third in a row) raised their record to 12-4.

Page County won't have much time to rest: their next contest is against Central Woodstock at 6:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Clarke County, they also won't have to wait long for more action: they'll square off against Rappahannock County at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. Clarke County has been dominant on offense recently, having racked up an incredible 218 points over their last three games.
