Baseball Game Preview: Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks vs. Lakeview Lakers

The Dawson-Boyd Blackjacks will venture away from home to challenge the Lakeview Lakers at 4:30 p.m. on Friday. Lakeview took a loss in their last game and will be looking to turn the tables on Dawson-Boyd, who comes in off a win.

Dawson-Boyd was handed a ten-run defeat in their previous outing, but that didn't affect their clutch gene on Tuesday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 9-7 win over Tracy-Milroy-Balaton. For those keeping track at home, that's the closest victory the Blackjacks have posted against the Panthers since May 7, 2018.

Meanwhile, Lakeview was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their tenth straight loss dating back to last season. They fell 11-6 to Yellow Medicine East.

The win got Dawson-Boyd back to even at 2-2. As for Lakeview, their defeat dropped their record down to 0-4.

Dawson-Boyd took their victory against Lakeview when the teams last played back in May of 2024 by a conclusive 13-2 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Blackjacks since the team won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
