Baseball Recap: Cortland Has No Trouble Against Mexico

Cortland won the last time they faced Mexico and things went their way on Thursday too. The Purple Tigers put the hurt on the Tigers with a sharp 10-2 victory. Considering the Purple Tigers have won nine contests by more than five runs this season, Thursday's blowout was nothing new.

Zach Muir made a splash while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, pitching six innings while giving up just two earned runs off four hits. He has been consistent: he hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in eight consecutive appearances. He was also big at the plate, going 1-for-3 with one double and one RBI.

In other batting news, Cal Albright was incredible, going 3-for-4 with two stolen bases, three runs, and one double. Another player making a difference was Caden Albright, who went 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, two runs, and one RBI.

Cortland always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .528. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Mexico only posted an OBP of .276.

Cortland's record is now 13-3. As for Mexico, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 8-9.

As of now, neither Cortland nor the Tigers have any future games scheduled.
