Baseball Game Preview: Centennial Patriots vs. Ridgevue Warhawks

The Centennial Patriots are taking a road trip to take on the Ridgevue Warhawks at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Centennial's pitching crew has only allowed 3.4 runs per game this season, so Ridgevue's hitters will have their work cut out for them.

Centennial heads in on the heels of a playoff game on Friday. They fell just short of Middleton by a score of 4-2. The loss continues a trend for the Patriots in their meetings with the Vikings: they've now lost five in a row.

Meanwhile, Ridgevue faced Centennial in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Friday. The Warhawks fell 6-3 to the Patriots. The Warhawks have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Ridgevue saw five different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Chance Schreiber, who went 2-for-3 with one run, one double, and one RBI.

Ridgevue's defeat dropped their record down to 12-11-1. As for Centennial, their loss dropped their record down to 20-7.

Centennial beat Ridgevue 6-3 when the teams last played on Friday. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Patriots since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
