Basketball Recap: Cameron Takes a Loss

Cameron lost against Richmond back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Cameron Dragons were outmatched by the Richmond Spartans and fell 71-38. While losing is never fun, the Dragons can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Missouri basketball rankings (they are ranked 310th, while the Spartans are ranked 80th).

Gabriel Johnson was his usual excellent self, dropping a double-double on 25 points and 13 boards for Richmond. Brice Dome was another key player, going 6 of 9 en route to 14 points.

Cameron's defeat dropped their record down to 5-8. As for Richmond, the victory made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 8-1.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Cameron will challenge Lathrop at 8:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Richmond, they are taking a road trip to face off against Holden at 7:00 p.m. on Monday.
