3A Tri-Valley recap Oct. 9, 2012
The biggest upset of the week belonged to Skyline, who took down 115th ranked Skyline, 41-18.
Silver Creek extended the longest winning streak in 3A Tri-Valley this week by beating Northridge, 28-16. The win marks sixth in a row for the the Raptors.
Keagen Hennig made the biggest impact on defense this week as Berthoud lost to Mead. The defensive lineman grabbed 1.0 sack.
Alex Kingsley was the best wideout in the league this week as the Spartans fell to the Maverick. Kingsley tallied seven receptions for 143 yards. Ryan DeMoudt helped Berthoud's passing attack out by catching three balls for 27 yards.
Ben Sjobakken put up the best numbers through the air as Silver Creek defeated the Grizzlies. He finished with 14 completions for 140 yards and two touchdowns. Sjobakken's favorite target this week was Trey Fleming, who caught six passes for 78 yards.
James Richardson was the most productive running back in the league this week. In 27 carries, he ran for 180 yards as Mead fell to Mead. Teammate Logan Anderson added to the ground attack by rushing for 45 yards.
Nick Dietz provided a threat through the air and on the ground as Dan Mcginn's team lost to Jason Klatt's team. He completed 12 passes for 174 yards and one touchdown and also ran for 84 yards.
Northridge's Robert Fulton and Michael Graff have formed a dynamic duo this season, leading 3A Tri-Valley in both passing and receiving yards. Fulton has thrown for 1726 yards this season, while Graff, a 6-foot-1 receiver, has 33 catches for 540 yards. Josh Quiroz from Mike Apodaca's team leads the league in rushing with 598 yards.
A big matchup in the league this week will be when the Maverick take on Jeff Fulton's team. Mead is currently in third, while the Grizzlies are in second.
Roosevelt made the biggest jump in the national rankings this week, rising to 7,598 from 8,912. They were able to move up in the ranks after a 41-18 victory over the Falcons last week.
